Admission Process
1.        Gather Information
Visit our web site at sandcastlesmontessoripreschool.com, read and talk to friends and family regarding the Montessori Method of Educations  philosophy and curriculum. Think about our program and a session offered to see if this is the best fit for your child and your family. Please email from the web site any questions you may have and when you would like visit SMP. You may also call (789-1965) to have a brochure sent to you. Please leave your name and address with the director or on the phone message machine.

2.        Enrollment Information
SMP admits students of any race, religion, color, and national or ethnic origin. SMP accepts currently enrolled children and their siblings prior to new children. The deposits for current SMP children are due January 31st. New children are invited to visit SMP in February/March. SMP accepts new children for half year enrollment on February 1st depending on availability and suitability of the program.

3.        Parents  Visit to Sandcastles Montessori Preschool
Call to make an appointment to visit Sandcastles Montessori Preschool (SMP). Please leave a message stating when you can be reached, if we are unable to answer the phone. This meeting is for parents only.  The teachers and director will discuss our school philosophy and curriculum with you, explain our classroom materials and visit our playground. Visits are on Thursdays at 12:00 to 12:30.

4.        Application
After choosing SMP as the best fit for your child and your family, an application packet must be completed. The packet includes the Application, the Child Questionnaire and the Parent Questionnaire. A $50 non-refundable application fee is required. Please send this packet to: SMP, 251 Post Road, Wakefield, RI 02879.

5.        Child Visits to Sandcastles Montessori Preschool
Make an appointment to have your child visit SMP. Your child will visit our school on Wednesdays 9:15 to 9:30 while school is in session and the enrolled children are working in the classroom. Parents can observe the classroom from the hallway windows while your child is in the classroom for 15 minutes. If more time is needed to observe your child, we may ask you to stay longer.

6.        Letter of Acceptance
SMP will send a letter of notification to all applicants after their child visits the classroom. The acceptance of children to SMP is made on a first-come, first-served basis according to eligibility and available space.

7.        Enrollment at SMP
A Deposit and the Enrollment Packet must be sent to SMP within 2 weeks of receiving the letter of acceptance to reserve a place for your child in the classroom. The Deposit is non-refundable and includes the Activity Fee, the Material Fee, and the Tuition Deposit Fee. The Tuition Deposit Fee will be applied to the yearly tuition. An Enrollment Packet must be complete at the time of the admissions process. It includes Medical History, Physical, Emergency Form, Enrollment Agreement, and a Parent Handbook Statement of Consent. When the programs are full, parents may place their child on a waiting list.
